Considered by many to be their
favourite hole on the course, the 16th is a relatively short, but
challenging par 4.
Your tee shot is blind because of a
slight rise in front of you, however there is a marker at the corner of
the wall to give you the favoured line.
The fairway is again relatively wide
however a long tee shot too far right. will leave a difficult second
over a large tree to the green.
 |
The middle or slightly left of the
fairway gives an easier approach but again you do not want to stray too
far left from the tee or you will again find that trees may catch your
drive.
From the fairway, your approach to he
green is particularly inviting. It lies considerably below the fairway
but is protected by a burn right at the front of the green. This burn is
surely the most visited waterway on the course and has probably put a
six on many a scorecard just as you are thinking about a run of pars for
the last 3 holes to hold your handicap! |

A large bunker and a few trees at the
back of the green will disuade you from hitting it too hard into the
green.
The green is receptive to a well hit
approach and once putting, it is relatively smooth and flat.
A very picturesque and rewarding golf
hole! |
